What's the maximum detection range on this sensor, and does it drop off much if the room is colder than normal?

The LX14 detects movement up to 12m, but that's rated at temperatures up to 24°C - in colder conditions the range can be a bit shorter. It also lets you set the switching time anywhere from 5 seconds to 10 minutes, so you can adjust how long the light stays on. For bigger spaces or outdoor areas you'd want to check our other sensors with a wider angle or longer range.
